Situated in Canton, on the outskirts of Cardiff’s city centre, Oak House is a friendly residential home designed for those who no longer want the burden of running their own home, or feel lonely and isolated living on their own.
The extensively modernised and extended Victorian home offers 28 single rooms and two double rooms. All rooms are beautifully finished with tasteful décor and co-ordinating wooden furniture, and are available with en-suite facilities if desired.
Many of the rooms have fine views over Thomson’s woodlands and garden park and residents are encouraged to make their room feel homely and comfortable by bringing in small items of furniture, ornaments and pictures if desired.
Each bedroom has a TV point and a telephone line is available by request. Each bedroom complies with all regulatory requirements and can be fitted with additional pressure relieving or mobility aids to ensure maximum comfort and safety.
The lounges are warm, attractive and well furnished, providing the ideal venue for meeting up and socialising with friends. Some are south facing and have French doors leading to a sunny patio and garden. An optional dining area is also located next to the lounge for those who wish to use it.
Oak House is fitted with a Nurse Call System, which links to all rooms, including bathrooms and toilets, to ensure residents receive prompt assistance if required.
